COACHING

Lifestyle and Business Coach

Beyond individual empowerment, I've seen first hand how wellbeing significantly impacts efficiency, productivity and ultimately profit. Before I became a coach, I had a 20-year corporate career, and in that time I discovered the value of motivating individuals and galvanising teams. I turned around an underperforming team of 80 people – reduced headcount by 7%, whilst improving productivity by 40% and decreasing absenteeism from 17% to 5% in just 4 months.

Now with nearly 10,000 hours of experience as a coach, I believe people should look forward to coming to work each day, motivated and ready to contribute their very best.

A bit about coaching

We can all sometimes lose our way amid the stresses and strains of modern life. Often we need an unbiased, outside perspective to help move us forward. There are often changes we would like to make, but either cannot see a path or almost never seem to get around to them. This is where coaching can help.

The coaching process is an effective partnership between you and your coach. It looks at where you are now and helps you to get to where you want to be. It is action-driven, and by raising your self-awareness and encouraging you to take responsibility for your life, it can help you rise to your own challenges and go further than you ever thought possible.

Coaching takes place through conversation but is however different from normal social conversation. It is dynamic and focused. It requires scheduled time in which you'll discover the necessary practical steps to achieve your aspirations.

Coaching is not about giving advice or having all the answers; it's an approach designed to unlock the potential you already have.

Coaching: About Therapy

When I first set up my coaching practice, I noticed that stress often got in the way of clients fulfilling their potential.

As a result I trained as a Stress Management Practitioner and then a Resilience Trainer.

So whilst coaching isn’t about giving advice, invariably clients’ need help finding appropriate coping strategies to handle difficult situations, to reduce their anxiety, get a better balance to their live and cope with their stress levels.

What people also want from our sessions are sensible, practical, easy-to-follow suggestions, to help them achieve their ambitious aspirations.

IS COACHING FOR ME?

Coaching could be for you if you identify with any of the following:

  • I've had a particular problem or challenge for a long time, but never managed to solve it

  • I've got an important issue to resolve but I don't know where to start

  • I seem to spend all my time, just playing catch up

  • Things are OK for me - but they could be better

  • Things would be great if only...

  • I'd like to run my ideas past someone who isn't going to tell me what to do or be negative

  • I feel isolated but find it difficult to talk to a friend / colleagues in case they see it as failure

  • I'm in a rut but I feel too exhausted to change

  • I've lost direction

WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR FIRST SESSION

Personalised Attention for All Your Needs

Coaching isn't for everyone, so I offer a complimentary "getting to know you" session, to assess whether coaching is right for you and whether you are comfortable with me as your coach.

If when we chat it is apparent that coaching isn’t for you, then I will let you know about other personal development organisations that may be more suitable.

How long should the coaching process last?

This really depends on what you are trying to achieve. The length of time, very much depends on the individual and what they want to achieve.

During each session you will establish an issue and I will encourage you, through a series of questions, to set goals aimed at resolving that issue. With help from me, you will explore various options that will enable you to take a step nearer to your goal.

This may be a challenging experience and will require a lot of commitment from you. You will be expected to take the necessary action to aid your progress, and I will be there to encourage and motivate you each step of the way to your success.

WHAT MY CLIENTS
ARE SAYING

Coaching: Testimonials

"I was predicted to get D grades in most of my GCSE subjects, but with the help of Rachel, I managed to succeed in getting Bs and Cs in 9 subjects. I learnt to value myself, to manage my time and that if you believe in yourself, you can do anything. My second year at University had been a very difficult one with particular health issues, which was hindering my academic success and my confidence and self-esteem was suffering. I therefore went back to Rachel for further assistance for my health and wellbeing and to boost my confidence (which had suffered as a result of my health). My health and wellbeing is now better than ever and my confidence restored. I achieved a 2:1 in my degree, which I am so proud of and now studying for an MA."
